Roof to Table

Since opening Paradiso, Chef Rinaldi has been committed to supporting local growers and purveyors. In 2011, she and her husband Chef Corey Baver, built a garden on the rooftop of their E. Passyunk Avenue restaurant. Bounty from the garden includes a variety of heirloom tomatoes, zucchini blossoms, strawberries, raspberries, beets, radishes, leeks and herbs. During the growing season, these become an integral part of the menu at Paradiso and Izumi.

Local beekeeper, Trey Fleming of Urban Apiaries approached Lynn and Corey to host his hives and provide the restaurant with his artesian honey. This is a natural partnership given their commitment to using locally produced products. In 2011, in support of the Pennsylvania Horticultural society, Paradiso created a summer salad using ingredients from PHS pops up garden. A portion of the proceeds of the sale from dish were donated to support City Harvest , an organization that feeds local homeless families.
